Killed.
Before her li'l eyes,
Could see the light.
Before her small muscles,
Could twitch in the air.
Before her vocal chords,
Could cry out for help.
Before she could hold,
Her school-champions' trophy.
Before she could be,
The breadwinner of the family.
Before she could soar,
In her glorious chosen career.
Before she could give birth,
To another talent like her.
Before she could take care,
Of her parents- poor and old.
Before she could bring pride,
For our India across the world.
Killed in the darkness,
For no fault of hers,
Except to have been revealed,
As the foetus of a girl......
Before her li'l eyes,
Could see the light.
Before her small muscles,
Could twitch in the air.
Before her vocal chords,
Could cry out for help.
Before she could hold,
Her school-champions' trophy.
Before she could be,
The breadwinner of the family.
Before she could soar,
In her glorious chosen career.
Before she could give birth,
To another talent like her.
Before she could take care,
Of her parents- poor and old.
Before she could bring pride,
For our India across the world.
Killed in the darkness,
For no fault of hers,
Except to have been revealed,
As the foetus of a girl......
Before even she could open her eyes.
