I loved watching the Bollywood movie 'Queen' starring Kangana Ranaut as the soul of the movie. To top it all, this movie was justifiably released on International Women's Day and I watched it that day itself! The movie shows how a timid yet super-nice woman from a small place in India discovers herself and enjoys her liberation after going on her honeymoon alone to Paris and Amsterdam, as her fiance refused to marry her just the day before marriage.

It teaches a lot- how to overcome fear, loss, pain with patience, confidence and just being yourself. The movie is such a treat. 'Queen' or Rani (the name of the protagonist) is aptly chosen for the protagonist! She takes up every challenge that comes her way and emerges so strong at the end, that her character stays on in mind. This is a very 'international' movie in many senses, as it builds warm human relations transcending borders. It is mostly shot in Paris and Amsterdam, and Rani makes many new international friends and bowls them over with her adorable qualities- simplicity, grit, humility, talent. Showing of FB likes increasing from her new network of friends and her growing popularity is a very positive note and brilliant idea at the end, as the credits for the movie display. Very innovatively done. Overall, a very heart-felt movie.

I loved reading the 'N lessons learnt from Queen' by my blogger friend Anita. I agree with each of them and recommend you to go through the fabulous post!

All in all, 'Queen' is a must-watch.
  • To discover yourself.
  • To laugh and cry with the protagonist as she discovers herself.
  • To come out of your shell.
  • To explore life.

Hell! Life is so short!

  1. I was really too keen to watch this movie, even my wife was too interested to watch this, but we really did not get the chance. We will watch it once it will come on TV only. With one and half year old kid it really becomes difficult to watch movies.
